Prohibition of discrimination on ground of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth : - No discrimination shall be made on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth or any of them by the state against any citizen. No citizen shall be subjected to any disability, liability, restriction or condition only on ground of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth or any of them in respect of: - accessibility in shops, public restaurants, hotels, and places of public entertainment or the using of wells, tanks, bathing Ghats, roads and places of public resort maintained wholly or partly out of the state funds or dedicated to the use of public general.
